Project One helps, assists real people with real needs. Project One is proud to say that everything we have ever received as a donation has been applied there where a genuine need was. We distribute our donations, such as financial, clothing, transport, food, gift vouchers and outings and a lot more, after an investigation into the circumstance of individuals, families and groups in our community has been done. We also reach out to other communities to assist in their needs where ever we may have an overflow. Financial donations, when applied correctly, is a very powerful tool in the supply of the needs of the underprivileged. With financial donations, Project One, can negotiate a better price in bulk without any sensation. Our main focus is on the elderly and children. We believe that the elderly and children are most in need as they are often neglected and most often can not look after themselves. Elderly individuals needs are most often of the nature which only can be supplied through a financial donation. Their financial donations are applied to various purchases such as medication, payment for accommodation, food and hamper packs, transport arrangements, eye care, walking and hearing aids. These individuals are dependant on social and government grants, which are insufficient for their day to day living and surviving expenses. We also try to encourage them by arranging social outings, such as the zoo or just a cup of tea at a shopping centre. Project One supports children of all groups, races and sex. Because of the vast variety of needs that goes hand in hand with the various age groups in children, Project One ensures that we start at the basic requirements of a child, such as shelter, food, bedding, clothing, hygiene and education. We make use of a large variety of external experts in various fields to assist us with the over all development of the child. We often find ourselves in the position of having to assist children by helping the parents. We ensure that a strong spiritual foundation is developed by arranging transport to their Sunday schools, ensure that they are adequately dressed and well feed, We further endeavour to ensure that they have sufficient school uniforms, school stationary, a balanced meal for break times. Many of these children are reliant on transport assistance to and from pre, primary and high school We have also supplied a few children with bicycles, where the need was eminent. Should we be in the position to do so, we also supply sporting equipment and assist with their development is this area. Project One also assists various needy toddlers by enrolling them in a pre-school with all the requirements that it entails.
